About Jay
Hello, I’m Jay Selthofner – a consultant, activist, and organizer with a longstanding dedication to political advocacy and community engagement in Wisconsin. From grassroots campaigning to advising on complex legislative matters, I am driven by a commitment to create positive change through informed, solution-oriented action.
I bring a unique blend of experience in legislative research, campaign strategy, and constituent relations. Over the years, I’ve honed my skills in interpreting and navigating legislative landscapes, with a particular focus on Wisconsin’s evolving cannabis policies. Whether advising citizens, business owners, or lawmakers, I aim to provide clarity and strategic insights that support informed decision-making.
My Background and Expertise
With decades of experience across various sectors, I have developed a well-rounded skill set that includes policy development, public speaking, digital marketing, and project management. I am the founder of the Wisconsin Cannabis Activist Network, where I led statewide advocacy efforts, organized educational events, and managed community outreach initiatives. Additionally, as the owner of Selthofner Consulting, I provide a range of services, from digital content creation to strategic political consulting.
A Community-Driven Approach
Community engagement is at the heart of my work. I believe in building lasting relationships through open communication and trust. Over the years, I’ve collaborated with advocacy groups, local officials, and grassroots organizations to address issues that matter most to our communities. My involvement in projects such as the Wisconsin Candidate Scorecard and my ongoing support for local candidates and causes reflect my dedication to transparent and accessible political processes.
Beyond Advocacy
When I’m not working, I enjoy exploring the outdoors, from mushroom foraging to fly-fishing, or spending quality time with my family on our family-owned Heritage Hemp Farm in Green Lake, Wisconsin. Through our farm, I also promote sustainable practices and local agriculture, producing hemp-based products and hosting educational events for the community. Our family organizes and hosts a two day event called, From The Land Festival which is held on our farm in Green Lake the third weekend in October.
I am always open to new connections, partnerships, and opportunities to contribute to Wisconsin’s political and social landscape. Let’s work together to build a brighter, more informed future for our community.
